Vascular wounds in the lower limbs mainly occur in patients with arterial disease of the lower limbs (peripheral arterial disease) or in patients with diabetes, or even a combination of the two.

 

Wound management is essential in these patients and must be taken care of early in order to avoid gangrene.

 

Each wound, depending on its stage, requires a suitable type of dressing and treatment.

 

Regular monitoring is necessary with close collaboration between each health professional (attending physician, surgeon, nurse, nursing assistant and accompanying person).
